स्मृति भ्रंषात बुद्धि नाशः बुद्धिनाशत प्रणश्यति ।। श्लोक ६३

From anger proceeds delusion; from delusion, confused memory;
from confused memory the ruin of reason, due to the ruin of reason he perishes.

-Bhagwad Gīta,Chapter 2 Samkhya Yoga, Sloka 63

Dhārmic traditions have studied the subjective mind and mental faculties in greater detail than any other system, including modern science. Yogic and Tāntrik literature explore the effects of prāna or life force, food, clothes, colors, geometric shapes and other environmental factors on chitta or mind stuff. Some yogis are known to eat from non-metallic cookware so the properies of the metals may not impact their concentraion.

Yogic psychology harnesses the powers of awareness, attunement and embodied learning to foster an inquiry into the foundation of your unique expression of self-awareness, health and wellness. A psychological therapy based on Yoga and Dhayāna, aims at the holistic treatment of various kinds of psychological or somatic dysfunctions ranging from body-ache to emotional distress. This approach is very different from western psychiatry which primarily focuses on identifying and categorizing a mental condition before 'treating' it.
